I would just like to thank everyone for any part they played in last nights cup final

Firstly to all the BJFL officials who ensured the game went ahead & their support throughout the evening, who i m sure were getting slightly worried as the rain started in the afternoon

To the trio in black, William , Rhys & Dan who all officiated superbly in very difficult conditions

To all the supporters who turned out on a very wet evening to add a great atmosphere to the game

& last but certainly no means least, both sets of players who gave their all & contributed to a very entertaining game. You were a credit to both clubs

Well Done to Alan & all the lads at Rolleston on a very deserved double

New F.A proposal's

Thought this might be of interest to you all..

FA proposals for youth football – one step to go

Football Association plans for a radical overhaul of youth football in England are just one step away from becoming reality.
The youth development proposals include a revised player pathway focused on small-sided football – including new 5v5 and 9v9 formats – up to the under 12s age group and a child-friendly approach to competition up to under 11s.
The ambitious plans received the approval of the FA Council earlier this month, leaving just one more hurdle to negotiate – a vote by FA shareholders at the AGM on 28 May – before work can begin on implementing the proposals.
If 75% of FA shareholders approve the rule changes relating to the revised player pathway and new competition formats then they will become mandatory practice, being phased in from the youngest age groups from the 2013/14 season onwards.
The most controversial element of the original proposals – a de-coupling of school and grassroots football age groups to combat the Relative Age Effect – was omitted from the proposals put to FA Council, although the FA will revisit this issue in due course.
For Nick Levett, the FA’s National Development Manager for Youth and Mini Soccer and the man behind the proposals, the AGM vote represents the final hurdle of a two and a half year project featuring extensive research and a nationwide consultation procedure, including over 125 events and engaging over 4,000 parents and coaches.
“I think we’re in a good place,” Levett told Club Website. “I hope that we’ve done enough. This is the next 15 to 20 years of youth football we’re talking about here.”
“[LMA Chairman and author of the FA's 1997 Charter for Quality] Howard Wilkinson stood up at the Council meeting and said that this was the most exciting and aspirational piece of work that he’d seen the FA do in years.
“If he recognises that it’s the right thing to do for the development and support of young players in the game, then we must be on the right track.”
The omission of the Relative Age Effect element of the proposals represents the biggest change to the FA’s final recommendations published in January.
This exclusion, says Levett, was due to “some concerns around it being the right solution, so it was decided it was best not to take that forward.
“That doesn’t mean that it’s off the agenda. It’s still a hugely important thing that we need to address. We can’t pretend it doesn’t exist, but maybe that wasn’t the right solution.”
Levett concedes that, were it down to him, the proposals being put forward to FA stakeholders might look slightly different, but he is happy that they represent the views of the majority of the grassroots community – the very point behind the FA’s extensive consultation.
Whilst the original plans may have been whittled down, the two proposals being put to the vote on 28 May still represent the biggest change to youth football since the introduction of mini soccer in 1999 – and they arguably go way beyond that.
If voted in, for the first time ever children will only begin to play on full size pitches at under 13s level while, for teams up to under 11s, the traditional league format will be replaced by three six-week ‘trophy events’, allowing all teams to play ‘competitive’ football for 18 weeks of a 26 week season, rather than all compete for a single league trophy over an entire season.

Following all the positive feedback from our event last year, and keeping up our tradition to invite previous attendees first, we would like to invite you to enter teams from your club again this year.

 U7’s Saturday 26th May 9am U8’s Saturday 26th May 1pm
 U9’s Sunday 27th May 9am U10’s Sunday 27th May 1pm

To keep it as much like your regular Saturday and Sunday games again this year, standard mini soccer rules will apply. U7, 8, 9 & 10s matches will be 7 a side played on the main first team pitch area giving us an excellent playing surface and better access to the main stand and clubhouse facilities.
Under the current FA guidelines the U7s & U8s will play a series of non competitive games with awards for fair play at the end when all players will be invited to come out through the tunnel under the main stand onto the playing area to receive their memento for taking part.
We hope to have the U9s & U10s playing in 4 groups of 4 teams with the top 2 in each group playing quarter, semi-final, 3rd & 4th place play off and final for the “Cup”, and the remaining 2 from each group playing off the same for the “Plate”. Trophies will be presented to finalists, again coming out through the tunnel.
I need some help from you, please can you complete the enclosed form and return along with the entry fee of £25.00 to confirm your place before I open the event up to all next week.
Parking will cost £2 per car and this will include a programme, there will be hot food, hot and cold drinks, ice-cream and sweets available from our clubhouse with alcohol also available but restricted to this area. Please note no BBQ’s or alcohol will be allowed to be brought onto the site.
We are really looking forward to the day again and hope you can join us, the event is fast becoming one of the most popular in the East Midlands and places will be limited.
Repton Linesman- fair play

I would like to congratulate the Repton Linesman in our game today.
One of our goals today: the ball was flicked on to towards 2 of our players, one was 2 yards off-side one was on-side, he wait to see which player attacked the ball, surfice to say the on-side player score a good goal thanks to the linesman.

In the matches this season, It is really difficult for linesman, the boys are getting older, wiser and above all quicker, the laws also mean the confusion sometimes reigns. I have had linesman say to me that 2 players were offside when only one has touched the ball, how can this be?

I have read topics in the past years in how to educate linesman, talking about linesman courses, but how do we best drive this forward. Any ideas?

This is my 2nd post on this matter, congratulating linesman the its a thankless task, but it was expertly carried out by the Repton linesman, thank you again.

Dear Friends,

I attach an entry form to our sixth annual tournament in our vilage catering for all age groups from Under 8- 16 (at this current seasons age group).

We have always ran at full capacity and I am hopeful the same will apply this year as repeat customers have already paid me before I have gone to press. The sum is a competitive £15.00 per team (includes parking) with fun stalls, refreshments and more for all the family.

Please book early as last year I had to turn down some disappointed people. The event will run smoothly will games flowing quickly supervised by official referees and organised with military precision as I have had many years organising this tournament and that at Newhall FC which is the largest in the area.

I look forward to welcoming you to our event.

I don't think I'm on my own in this confusion but there appears to be a debate around the rules and regulations of running U7's groups in this summers tournaments. Belvedere came across this first I believe and moved their tournaments date to cater for it. I have queried with Derbyshire FA and my interpretation is that you cannot run an U7 non competitive group unless your tournament is on or after the 1st July which is the effective start date of next season and of course next season is when U7's groups are introduced.

I see that there are 2 other clubs promoting U7's groups who's tournament dates are before 1st July so I could be wrong. If anyone else has an angle on this please post.

Belvedere Park Annual Soccer Tournament 2012

Belvedere Park Junior Football Club

Annual Soccer Tournament

Sunday July 8th 2012

Belvedere Park Junior Football Club would like to invite your team to its Annual Soccer Tournament, at The Marlpit Football Ground, Shobnall Leisure Complex, Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, DE14 2BB, on Sunday July 8th 2012.

The age groups we will be running at the Tournament are –

Under 7’s, Under 8’s, Under 9’s, Under 10’s and Under 11’s. (All age groups are as per season 2012-2013).

Under 7’s and Under 8’s
As per current FA guidelines, the U7’s and U8’s will be non-competitive and therefore results will not be collected from these matches, nor will trophies/medals be presented to these teams. We will be introducing the new FA proposals for U7’s and U8’s at the tournament whereby all matches will be played on a 5-a-side basis on smaller pitches. We will also be introducing two other FA proposals at the tournament,

Opposing teams retreat to the half way line when the goalkeeper has the ball. Hopefully this will encourage teams/goalkeepers to play out through their defence, rather than just hoofing the ball.

All throw-ins will be under arm. This will give players better chance of controlling the ball at foot height rather than chest or head height.

Under 9’s, Under 10’s and Under 11’s
The format for the Tournament will be the same as previous years, whereby each age group will be contested on a Round Robin League basis. All matches will be 7-a-side and played to current FA mini-soccer rules.

Entrance Fees for the Tournament : U7’s and U8’s - £15.00 per team, U9’s, U10’s and U11’s - £25.00 per team. (All entrance fees are non-refundable).

All matches will be officiated by qualified referees.

There will be no limit to the number of players a team can bring on the day, although there will be a maximum of 3 substitutions allowed per game, to ensure continuity of the game. We will however only provide up to 10 trophies per team, for the Winners and Runners-Up of the League in each of the age groups from Under 9’s - Under 11’s.

Providing we have the required teams entered into the tournament, all teams will be guaranteed 7 matches on the day.

Each age group will be contested over either a morning or afternoon session, so as not to tie up a full day for parents and players. You will be informed whether you are playing in the morning or afternoon session, once the closing date for entries has passed.

If you are interested in entering a team(s) in the Belvedere Tournament, please complete the attached application form and send it with your entrance fee to the address shown on the form. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Further tournament information will be posted at regular intervals on the Belvedere Park Junior Football Club web site at www.BPJFC.co.uk and on this forum.

Thank-you for taking the time to read the invite and hopefully, we will look forward to seeing you at the Tournament.

shobnall floodlit astro turf only £15

Anglesey Swifts U14 have secured the shobnall floodlit astroturf facility from end of October through til March on Fridays from 6pm til 7pm. We are looking for another team to share it with Possibly 2 teams, as it divides into 3 massive areas. We are only looking for £15 per session to help towards the costs of next winters sessions. We tend to turn up a little early and stay a lil longer which extends the session by half hour. Giving us great value . For more info please call or text gav on 07977425903

First Aid Course

Three years ago I arranged Level One Courses through Staffs FA for over 200 coaches in the BJFL. Many coaches will now have their First Aid and Child Protection coming up for renewal. The CP can be renewed online and hopefully you'll get a reminder, as I did, from the FA. It costs £10

To renew your First Aid you need to attend another workshop. Staffs FA are willing to arrange one at Shobnall if they can get a minimum of 12 coaches. They can do up to 24 and we have already taken 6 places. If you want to attend this refresher, please send me an email (garydunne33@sky.com) so I can then go ahead and ask Staffs FA to set one up. There isn't a date yet as they need me to assure them I have at least 12 names (should be at least 48 due this June/July?).

Your Level One qualification will expire if you do NOT do your Child Protection and First Aid Refresher. If you allow this to happen you can NOT manage a team in the BJFL next season as the BJFL are a Charter Standard League and their requirement is all clubs to be Charter Standard. The Charter Standard requires clubs to have all of their coaches to have a qualification.

Coach required

Newhall FC are looking for a new coach to take over from our existing academy coach in the next couple of months.

Our academy has seen many players move on and into our teams that play within the BJFL and is open to players aged 7 - 13, both boys and girls.

At present they train on a Friday night at Pingle, but will soon move outdoors to our training facility at Oversetts Rd. The night of training for the academy will be flexible.

We are looking for someone to join us and ideally run alongside with our existing coach with the aim of taking over in June.

Again, ideally we would be looking for someone who is already FA level certified with associated emergency aid and child welfare, and CRB checked.

We are however willing to put interested and selected parties through these courses with the right level of commitment from the individual.

If you are interested or want to know more please contact:
